As a critical binder for products such as plasterboards, self-leveling compounds, and gypsum mortars, the efficiency and stability of its production line directly determine the competitiveness of downstream products. Addressing this market need, we present a state-of-the-art 100,000 tons/year Natural Gypsum Powder Production Line, engineered for optimal performance, energy efficiency, and environmental compliance.
This project is designed as a turnkey solution, covering the entire spectrum of engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning. The technical configuration is applicable to a facility with an annual output of 100,000 tons of natural gypsum powder. It encompasses the design, structural fabrication, performance validation, installation, and comprehensive after-sales service of all systems within the battery limits. The scope includes not only mechanical equipment but also all associated piping, electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems. The raw material specified is high-grade dihydrate gypsum (CaSO₄·2H₂O), characterized by a free water content of less than 3%, a crystal water content of 20%, and a gypsum grade exceeding 90%. This ensures a high-purity feedstock for the calcination process.

The production line is engineered for robust and continuous operation. With an annual operational target of 300 days, the system boasts a stable production capacity of 14 tons per hour, ensuring the yearly quota is comfortably met. The total installed power is approximately 1300 kW, achieving a specific power consumption of 50 kWh per ton of finished product, which aligns with modern energy-saving standards.
Fuel efficiency is equally prioritized. Utilizing a natural gas hot blast stove heating system, the line maintains a coal equivalent consumption rate of 50 kg per ton (based on 4000 kcal/kg calorific value). The spatial requirements for the project are well-defined: the main equipment occupies a footprint of 80m (L) × 20m (W) × 20m (H). Additionally, a boiler room area of 30m × 20m × 20m and a gypsum rock storage area of 50m × 30m × 8m are required to support uninterrupted operations.
The transformation of raw gypsum ore into a high-value cementitious material relies on precise thermal processing. The process begins with natural gypsum ore (0-10mm) fed into a hopper, followed by primary crushing to achieve optimal particle size. The crushed material is then conveyed via elevators to the grinding mill, where it is pulverized to a fineness of 80 mesh. This fine powder is the prerequisite for efficient calcination.
The heart of the system is the boiling calciner. Here, the dihydrate gypsum (CaSO₄·2H₂O) undergoes a critical phase change. Through controlled heating, partial crystal water is removed, converting it into hemihydrate gypsum (CaSO₄·½H₂O), the active ingredient responsible for setting and hardening properties. The reaction (CaSO₄·2H₂O + Heat → CaSO₄·½H₂O + 1.5H₂O) is meticulously regulated to ensure consistent product quality.
Post-calcination, the hot gypsum powder enters the cooling system to stabilize its temperature and phase. Subsequently, the finished product is transported via enclosed conveyors to the storage silos. A fully automated packing system ensures precise bagging and dispatch. Throughout the entire process, a sophisticated dust removal and air emission system guarantees that all emissions meet stringent environmental standards, protecting both the operators and the surrounding environment.
