A medium-sized plywood manufacturing factory focuses on producing commercial plywood and decorative veneer sheets. For a long time, the factory used an old traditional wood dryer with simple structure and fixed working parameters. As order standards became stricter and energy costs continued to rise, the outdated drying machine could no longer meet stable mass production requirements. The main problems included uneven drying, frequent veneer warping and cracking, unstable final moisture content, and excessive power consumption. To improve product yield and reduce operational costs, the factory decided to upgrade to a modern industrial wood veneer dryer.

Main Challenges Before Upgrade
The original drying machine lacked precise temperature and humidity control, resulting in large moisture differences between veneer batches. Thin veneers were easily over-dried and cracked, while thick veneers often retained internal moisture, causing delamination during hot pressing. In addition, the old wood dryer had no heat recovery system, leading to serious heat loss and high daily power consumption. These issues kept the factory’s defective rate high and restricted further market expansion.
Wood Veneer Dryer Solution
We provided the customer with a new multi-layer circulating wood veneer dryer customized for stable and energy-saving production. This upgradedwood veneer dryer adopts an optimized hot air circulation design that allows uniform heat distribution inside the chamber, effectively eliminating drying dead zones. Different from ordinary drying machine models, this wood veneer dryer supports fully segmented drying curves, automatically adjusting temperature, humidity, and air volume according to veneer thickness and wood species.
The equipment is equipped with real-time moisture detection and intelligent PLC control, enabling automatic parameter adjustment throughout the drying process. The built-in waste heat recovery system greatly improves thermal efficiency and reduces unnecessary energy waste. Meanwhile, the enhanced sealing and thermal insulation structure further stabilizes the internal drying environment, making the entire drying machine more stable and durable for long-hour industrial operation.
Final Production Results
After the new wood veneer dryer was officially put into operation, the factory’s production conditions improved significantly. The veneer moisture content is stably controlled between 8% and 12%, with almost no warping or cracking issues. The product defective rate dropped sharply, and the surface flatness and texture consistency of finished veneers were greatly improved. Compared with the previous wood dryer, the new wood veneer dryer reduces comprehensive energy consumption by more than 25%, effectively lowering long-term production costs. The stable drying performance helps the factory deliver high-quality plywood products consistently and improves overall market competitiveness.
