Concepción, Chile – South American Timber Manufacturing ReportA large eucalyptus veneer exporter in southern Chile expanded its production capacity by launching a continuous wood veneer dryer line. The company exports plywood and veneer to North America, and rising order volume created a clear capacity gap. The factory previously ran multiple small separate wood dryer units. These scattered drying machine units required frequent feeding and stopping, limiting daily output and causing inconsistent drying quality.

Eucalyptus veneer has dense fiber and fast moisture absorption. The old drying machine units struggled to match the pace of the peeling line, and the workshop was full of stacked wet veneer waiting for drying. The factory decided to replace discrete equipment with one integrated continuous wood veneer dryer to match its automated peeling and hot-pressing line.
The continuous wood veneer dryer we supplied uses multi-layer conveyor design for non-stop feeding and discharging. The hot air flows up and down alternately inside the wood veneer dryer, ensuring uniform heating for every eucalyptus veneer. The intelligent system adjusts conveyor speed and heating power automatically according to incoming veneer moisture. This drying machine connects seamlessly with upstream peeling equipment, so there is no material backlog. The new wood dryer also adds frequency conversion motors to cut idle power consumption.
After commissioning, the daily output of the wood veneer dryer increased by 41%. Veneer moisture meets the standard for North American plywood products. Manual work for material transfer and parameter adjustment decreased sharply. The client said the continuous wood veneer dryer is the core equipment supporting their export growth, and the drying machine runs smoothly under 24-hour shift production.
